On September 8, Solitude Lake Management completed its scheduled inspection and maintenance visit at Barefoot Lakes. The inspection included both lakes and focused on erosion control, aeration, algae and vegetation management, water quality, and overall pond conditions.

East Lake

• No algae or vegetation was observed at the time of inspection.
• The water level has decreased since the previous inspection on August 20.
• Tree branches were observed extending into the lake in several areas.
• Solitude applied 30 gallons of liquid SeClear algaecide as a preventative treatment and to help reduce phosphorus levels.
• Erosion was observed along the shoreline. Solitude is scheduled to complete erosion restoration work in October.
• The pond dye applied in August is beginning to fade. Solitude will apply additional dye during the next visit.
• The faulty air compressor has been replaced. With the new compressor in place, 12 diffusers are currently operating.
• Two disconnected air lines were also identified.
• Air filters for all compressors were inspected and remain in good condition.

West Lake

• Biofilm was observed during the inspection.
• Solitude applied 20 gallons of liquid SeClear to help control the biofilm.
• The shoreline was inspected for dead fish, and none were observed.

Pond Dye Treatment
During the next service visit, Solitude plans to add additional pond dye as the August application continues to fade. Solitude will use both Blue Lagoon Blue and Loch Ness Black dye. 

Water Quality
Solitude also conducted water quality testing at Barefoot Lakes and St. Vrain Creek on September 8.
