When are the recreational facilities available? The Cove! 

The Cove, a recreational facility that includes a fitness center, swimming pool, community rooms, patio and grill, fire pits, event lawn, and multi-use sports courts. Some areas within these facilities can be reserved for events, please see the Rental tab for more information. 

The Cove Fitness Center: Access card holders and pass holders can access The Cove’s fitness center is open 24/7 by key card access. Multi-use sport courts and the lawn are open from sunrise to sunset. The Cove fitness and gathering building community areas, swimming pool, and programming are operated by The Management Trust. Full-time front desk staff is available to assist your needs during the hours noted below. 

The Cove Front Desk:

  • Monday-Friday 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
  • Saturday-Sunday 10:00 A.M.- 7:00 P.M.

The Cove Swimming Pool: (Open Approximately Memorial Day - Labor Day) 7 days a week from 8:00 A.M.– 8:00 P.M. regularly. Starting mid-August the times will change to 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. daily.  After Labor Day, pool hours are weekends only, 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. through September 22nd.

How do I get access to the recreation facilities? 

You may complete the required documents online, once completed online, stop in at The Cove during staffed hours to verify proof of address (ID, closing documents, bill, ect., anything that will show your name and address within St. Vrain Lakes Metropolitan District) and to collect your access cards for the household. OR Stop in at The Cove during staffed hours to complete the required forms with proof of address. Access Cards: Each household can receive up to 2 free access cards. Any additional card or loss of card will be $15. Required forms to be completed:

  • Additional authorized user form – any additional family residing in household.
  • Individual and parent/legal guardian waiver of liability form – completed for all within household.
  • Minor release form – to be completed for all kids between 12-17 years old to access amenities.
  • Assignment of recreational rights – if applicable, renters to complete this form.
Who can use The Cove? 

All Recreational Facilities are open to the public.

  • All St. Vrain Lakes Metro District residents - FREE
  • Guests (charges may apply)
  • Other community members (charges may apply).
Can I use the pool without registering with St. Vrain Lakes Metropolitan District? 

No, you must complete an annual waiver to have access to The Cove and swimming pool. You may complete these forms online, please note you must register to have access to this feature. You can also stop by The Cove during staffed hours to have the front desk assist you with these forms, check-in as a guest, or purchase outside user passes.

Can I bring guests for free? 

 

Yes, you can bring a guest for free using one of your Guest Passes. Each household will receive 10 Guest Passes per year. Additional guest passes can be purchased for by a resident or an annual pass holder for $5 each.

 

Is a lifeguard at The Cove’s swimming pool always on staff? 

No, The pool is a "Swim at Your Own Risk" amenity. The Cove’s swimming pool is opening Memorial Day Weekend 2024.  Weather is closely watched. If there is lightening within 10 miles of the area, and/or if thunder is heard the pool and pool deck is closed for a half hour of each lightening strike. If the air temperature is 60 degrees or below, the pool is also closed until the air temperature rises.

How old does my child(ren) need to be to use the recreational facilities? 

Fitness Areas:

Kids under the age of 12 may not use the fitness equipment. Children 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using equipment and have a minor release form on file. Minors 16 years or older may use the equipment without adult supervision as long as there is a minor release form on file.

Swimming Pool Area:

Minors  over the age of 13 may access the pool on their own, as long as they have all proper forms are completed and on file.

Attention:
Multiple forms must be completed and on file before kids 0-18 may access The Cove and swimming pool without an accompanied parent or guardian. More information can be found here and please do not hesitate to contact The front desk or online.

Do I have to pay for fitness classes? 

Yes, fees are set by the instructor of each individual class. Fitness Class schedules can be found at The Cove.

Who maintains the parks and trails in Barefoot Lakes? 

Peninsula Park, located along Barefoot Lakes, is owned and maintained by the Town of Firestone. Please report a concern by visiting https://www.firestoneco.gov/568/Parks-Trails.

Waterside Park, located off Sunset Road, is owned and maintained by the St. Vrain Lakes Metropolitan District No. 1. To submit a maintenance ticket, view service schedules, and more visit the Operations & Maintenance Page.

Trail systems owned and maintained by St. Vrain Lakes Metropolitan District can be viewed under maintenance maps by visiting the Operations & Maintenance Page.

Are Barefoot Lakes open for Recreational use?
