District operations updates
The projects are managed by Pinnacle Consulting Group. To see the full plan please visit the district’s website.
Fish restocking
Due to ongoing drought conditions and reduced water levels, the District will pause fish restocking this year.
Introducing fish during periods of drought can lead to lower survival rates and added stress on the ecosystem. With warmer temperatures and decreased water levels, oxygen levels in the lakes are reduced, making it difficult for newly introduced fish to thrive.
By holding off this season, we are prioritizing the long-term health and sustainability of the lakes—allowing conditions time to improve so future stocking efforts can be more successful and impactful.
We appreciate your understanding and partnership as we take a thoughtful, proactive approach to caring for this important community resource. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and look forward to resuming stocking when the time is right.
Lake safety
A life ring preserver has been installed on the lake deck to further support safety within our community.
This device is in place strictly for emergency rescue situations and serves as an important safety resource in the event someone is in distress in or near the water.
To ensure it is always available when needed:
The life ring is not locked, allowing for immediate access during an emergency
It should only be used in true rescue situations
Any misuse or tampering may delay response during an emergency and could put others at risk
Barefoot appreciates your help in caring for shared spaces and respecting the purpose of this equipment. Together, we can help ensure the lake remains a safe and welcoming place for all residents.
If you notice any issues with the life ring or its placement, please report them to the District Management team right away so they can address it promptly.
Waterside Park updates
The swing set area at Waterside Park will be temporarily closed in the coming weeks as improvements begin on the playground surface. Please continue to monitor the weekly updates for the exact project dates.
The pour-and-play material is being redone to enhance the safety and longevity of the play area. During this time, the swing set and surrounding area will be shut down and secured with an orange safety fence.
During this time:
The area will remain closed throughout the duration of the project
The installation process will take a few weeks to allow the material to properly cure and set
For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask residents to respect the fencing and avoid entering the work area while improvements are in progress.
Thank you for your patience as we invest in this space and look forward to reopening an even better play area for the community to enjoy.
