Cannon balls, belly flops, relays, oh my!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Splash Into Summer celebration! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with sunshine, laughter, and community, and we had so much fun kicking off the season with our Barefoot neighbors.

From the DJ and pool relays to the cannonball and belly flop contests, popsicles, and plenty of poolside fun, it was great to see residents of all ages connecting, making memories, and celebrating the start of summer together.

Thank you for helping make the event such a success. We’re grateful to be part of such an engaged and vibrant community and look forward to seeing everyone at our next event: the Red, White & Bike Parade on July 4!

Pool reminders for a great summer

As we settle into pool season, a few friendly reminders can help keep The Cove safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Pool hours

• Lap Swim: 6-9:59 a.m.

• Open Swim: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Please do not enter the pool area during lap swim hours to reserve chairs or save space. Open swim access begins at 10 a.m.

Pool rules

• No alcohol or glass containers

• No running on the pool deck

• No hanging, pulling, or playing on lane lines

• Follow all directions from pool staff

• Help keep the pool area clean by disposing of trash properly

Check-in clarification

To help pool operations run smoothly, please follow these check-in procedures:

• Pool gate is open — check in with the pool monitors in the office upon arrival.

• Pool gate is closed — access the pool using the KISI app.

• If you are bringing guests, be sure to check in with the pool monitor when they return to the office.

This process helps ensure accurate attendance, allows staff to assist residents efficiently, and provides flexibility for pool monitors to step away briefly for cleaning, facility checks, and resident support.

Water watch

Little Thompson Water District (LTWD) has issued this initial level as an early warning system. The Watch level helps our community prepare for potential water shortages while implementing reasonable conservation measures.

Landscape watering guidelines

Watering is permitted only before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m., with a maximum of three watering days per week. Even-numbered addresses may water on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, while odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Trees and shrubs may be watered using drip systems, hand watering with a shut-off nozzle, deep root needle, or arbor bag.

For gardens and greenhouses, sprinkler use must follow the three-day weekly schedule and occur during approved watering hours (before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m.). Hand watering, drip irrigation, or deep root watering methods are not restricted by day.

Keep your EyeOnWater

Gain more insight into your water use with a free EyeOnWater account. EyeOnWater is a FREE website and mobile application that gives Little Thompson Water District customers visibility into how much water they use. The site provides a dashboard organized in modules or sections. These sections allow you to quickly see how much water you’re using, whether you have a potential leak and more.

An evening with Native Roots

July 16 | 5-7 p.m. | The Cove

Join us for an engaging presentation exploring the native grasses that help make Barefoot unique.

Led by a local expert, this educational evening will cover the role native grasses play in our community, why they are important to the local ecosystem, and what to expect throughout their natural growth cycle during the year. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about the native areas throughout Barefoot and ask questions about the landscape that surrounds us.

Get the whole family involved

From 6-7 p.m., young learners are invited to participate in a hands-on activity designed just for them. Kids will have the chance to get their hands dirty, explore nature up close, and learn more about native plants and grasses through an interactive experience.
